Blueberries are delicious when eaten fresh, but they can also be frozen or dried for enjoyment of local fruit throughout the whole year.
To freeze blueberries, it is best not to wash them because they will stick together when frozen. Simply toss the berries in a freezer-safe bag and freeze! When you would like to consume them, rinse and drain, and then enjoy in pancakes, smoothies, muffins, pies of so much more! If you prefer to wash them first, try placing the berries individually on cookie sheets covered with wax paper and then place the sheet in the freezer. Once frozen, the berries can be placed in a freezer-safe bag without sticking together.
